Poppy Jools Deacon
Poppy Jools is an interdisciplinary fine artist, creating abstract works of varying scale that address consistent underlying themes of emotional expression, vulnerability and the self. Varying in materials and technique the works retain an aesthetic that alludes to the biological, a contrast to the emotive subject matter that drives the overall context. The methodology for the works incorporates ideologies derived from movements such as Expressionism, Post-Modernism and Process Art, again reinforcing a juxtaposition between expressive emotive context and systematic approaches to working, and retains some elements of colour theory.
